The 2026 8th International Conference on Environmental Prevention and Pollution Control Technologies (EPPCT 2026), organized by Henan Academy of Geology, China, was successfully held online on April 17, 2026. The conference brought together numerous experts and scholars from around the globe to discuss cutting-edge technologies and research achievements in the field of environmental prevention and pollution control.

The conference featured three keynote speeches delivered by distinguished experts from both domestic and international institutions. Prof. Foo Keng Yuen from Universiti Sains Malaysia presented a report titled Advancing Sustainable Environmental Protection and Pollution Control through UNITWIN Collaboration, sharing international cooperation experiences under the UNESCO framework and related technological frontiers.

Prof. Mengmeng Zhen from Hebei University of Technology delivered an insightful report titled Research on the Construction of High-Efficiency Catalysts and Their Regulation of the Reaction Kinetics Mechanism in Lithium-Sulfur Batteries, systematically addressing the key challenges faced by lithium-sulfur batteries and strategies for constructing high-efficiency catalysts.

Prof. Sheng-Qi Guo, also from Hebei University of Technology, presented a report titled Defect-Engineered Photocatalytic Systems: A Technological Breakthrough from Pollution Control to Environmental Prevention, focusing on the application of cation vacancy defect engineering in photocatalysis, providing a new technological pathway for transitioning photocatalysis from "end-of-pipe pollution control" toward "source-oriented environmental prevention."

In addition to the keynote speeches, the conference featured nine oral presentations delivered by early-career researchers from institutions including the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Tech University, Zhengzhou University, and Guangxi University. They shared their latest research findings in environmental science, engineering, and pollution control, demonstrating a wide range of academic exchange and collaboration.

The successful conclusion of this conference not only showcased research achievements in the field of environmental prevention and pollution control but also strengthened the consensus among all stakeholders in addressing environmental challenges. 第八届环境预防和污染控制技术国际学术会议EPPCT 2026 会议圆满落幕
由河南省地质研究院主办的第八届环境预防和污染控制技术国际学术会议(EPPCT 2026)于2026年4月17日以线上会议形式圆满落幕。会议汇聚了来自全球各地的专家学者,共同探讨环境预防与污染控制领域的前沿技术和研究成果。
会议由3位国内外专家进行主旨报告。马来西亚理科大学的胡庆延教授(Prof. Foo Keng Yuen),报告题目为《Advancing Sustainable Environmental Protection and Pollution Control through UNITWIN Collaboration》,分享了联合国教科文组织框架下环境领域的国际合作经验以及相关技术前沿。河北工业大学的甄蒙蒙教授,进行了题目为《高效催化剂的构建及其调控锂硫电池反应动力学机制研究》的精彩报告,系统阐述了锂硫电池面临的关键挑战及高效催化剂的构建策略。河北工业大学的郭盛祺教授,带来《缺陷光催化体系:从污染控制到环境预防的技术突破》报告,重点介绍了阳离子空位缺陷体系在光催化技术中的应用,为光催化技术从“末端污染控制”向“源头环境预防”的跨越提供了新的技术路径。
除主旨报告外,来自中国科学院新疆生态与地理研究所、青岛科技大学、南京工业大学、郑州大学、广西大学等高校和科研机构的青年学者带来了9场口头报告,分享了在环境科学与工程、污染控制等领域的最新研究成果,展示了广泛的学术交流与合作。
